My name is Lhakpa Chodon

“Having my own business and seeing my toys next to all the other designers makes them look good and I feel proud”…

Lhakpa escaped from Tibet by walking to India in 1995. There she had the opportunity of education. In 1998 after she finished her schooling she worked for a tailor. Lhakpa worked there for 8 years and learnt to sew women and children’s clothes.

In 2004 she married Lobsang Sherap an ex-political prisoner also from Tibet. In 2009 she had the opportunity of coming to Australia as refugees.

She was first inspired to use her skills and start making toys by Madeleine from Do Re Me, who asked her to maker toys for the shop.

“Sewing toys makes me Happy!!”
